Whether you have a little experience or are a seasoned enamelist, you will find this course to be valuable to develop a strong technical foundation. Although the Waterlily Workshop is the Cloisonné 101 of the Merry-Lee Rae Online Workshops, you will find that Skin Tones is also a good place to start your journey in Merry-Lee's Classroom if you are already an experienced enamelist. (You may find it helpful to do the Waterlily Course also as it will help you develop a familiarity with Merry-Lee’s way of approaching the medium.) This course includes a brief introduction to Design Strategy for Enamel. Also covered is the finer points of mixing colors and graduation of colors for more refined shading. Techniques shown here are applicable to all accomplished cloisonné work extending beyond believable skin tones. For the First Time- I will be offering this class as a Mentored Experience. After completing the course content, I will ask you to design a Skin Tone Study and we will work through a "Homework" project from drawing to translating to enamel to the enameling process and approach on your own design. Naturally the effort you put in will reflect in your results.
You will have 6 months after enrollment to complete the course.
