Class Format

I am very excited to be launching my online workshops!  Of course, I would rather you were here at my studio in beautiful Coastal California.  There is nothing that can replace the inspiring experience of an intimate classroom of passionate students.  I just hope my online classes will be a perfect second option.

The workshops here are an on-demand format so you can work at your own pace and not struggle to adjust your schedule to enjoy the learning process.  All of the handouts will be available for you to download and print so that they are easily used as a reference at your workbench.  The videos will be available for you to watch for 6 months from date of purchase and of course you may download the handouts for unlimited access to the class information.

Every workshop will come with a downloadable list of tools and material requirements, I will also include links to my favorite suppliers.

You probably already know that I love to hear from my students and will set up Facebook pages that will be closed to the general public but open to enrolled students.  It will be a place where you can share your triumphs with fellow classmates as well as the challenges you are experiencing and I will be there to answer questions and join the cheering section.

Join the Inner Circle!

If you’d like to be a part of my online classes and supportive enameling community, I’d love to have you join me. To be kept up to date on the workshops and receive special launch pricing, please sign up below.

text and video's very well presented. It was just like you were there holding our hands to make sure we understood every step of the way. Love the "put it in the kiln at 1400 for 2 min". This was a wonderful refresher course for me. Thank you and keep them coming. Starting on the Wisteria class.

Thank you Merry-Lee for diving into producing these videos knowing that the information that you wanted to share with your students was ultimately more valuable than worrying about over editing. You’re head is just filled with enameling experience and I feel fortunate that I’m able to participate through this online classroom. I gained a deeper understanding of the enameling process with your explains as to why you do things the way that you do. I only wish that the online class was not limited to 6months of viewing. Thank you for being quick to respond to FB questions. You are generous with your information and for that I we are all grateful.

I'm an intermediate (beginner?) enamellist. I found the class assignments challenging, but doable. I watched every video very carefully, took complete notes, emphasizing especially anything that was new to me. I took my notes with me to my studio. Of course, any challenging project will need some judgment calls. In the end, I had to fire my opalescent in the way that my kiln dictated, but I carefully followed Merry-Lee's calibration instructions, and all went well. The wires took me a long time. They were very tiny! But it's just a question of not giving up, and I didn't. Enamelling the flowers wasn't easy--they are tiny! But I followed the color sketch, and although I know I didn't get all the colors in the right place, the flowers look fine. I learned a lot of refinements in this class, which is exactly what I look to Merry-Lee for. Detailed discussion of shading, color mixing, managing the color sequence, grinding tips--each individual tiny detail adds up to get you to a piece that is beyond what you could achieve before the class. If you truly want to learn cloisonne from a master, don't miss Merry-Lee's classes.

I have been making cloisonné pieces for at least ten years...still learned so much more from Merrylee. I originally signed up for the class because I wanted to take the”translucents” workshop. I am so glad I did! I love the way she washes transparents....much quicker than my old way for small amounts.
